Womens World Cup Qualifiers 2006
 
England's women competed in the 2006 Samsung World Cup qualifiers from the 25th April - 6th May 2006 in Rome, Italy.

England (9th world ranked team) were drawn in Pool A with China (5), Japan (8), Ukraine (15), Scotland (17) and France (21). Pool B consists of New Zealand (6), Korea (7), USA (12), Ireland (13), Azerbaijan (19) and Italy (20).

The top 2 teams in each league go through to the World Cup and the semi-finals for the qualifying tournament, and subsequent final. The 3rd and 4th placed teams in each league have a cross playoff, and the two winners then play each other to take the final fifth place from the qualifying tournament. This makes up 12 teams, those seven already qualified are Argentina (Pan America champions), Australia (Oceania champions), Germany (Europe ranking qualified), India (Asia champions), Netherlands (European champions), Spain (host) and South Africa (African champions).
