| Leicestershire & Rutland Hockey Association Schools And Youth will be holding 5 Junior Development Centres (JDC's) on the following dates for any young players who you feel are ready to enter the England Hockey Player Pathway. This is the first stage in the England Hockey Single System (see Single System pages for more information) to help players receive formal coaching at a higher level and to enable them to progress to the Junior Academy Centres (JAC's). The selection process will be based on fitness, core skills and some game play. We shall be looking for players who have sound basic skills, but primarily those players who have drive and enthusiasm and who aspire to reach their full potential. The main purpose of the JDC is to develop young players with potential. The centre mainly focuses on fitness, footwork, core skills and progression into game play. After a number of training sessions a period of competition will take place and players will be assessed on their suitability to attend the next stage of the player pathway (JAC's). Please ensure that all players entered for the JDC trials are committed to attending the training sessions on the dates and times and at the venues shown below. There will be a charge of £40.00 for the weekly sessions, and a JDC T-shirt will be included in the charge. To secure a place at any of the 6 JDC's, please download a registration form from the website www.leicschoolandyouth.org.uk, or request one from Jane Jelley, jane.jelley@talk21.com |
