We would like to remind all players and team managers that the new rule regarding the bow of the stick will be introduced to all hockey across England on 1st June 2006. This will mean that any team participating in any EH competition after that date should expect that a stick check will be carried out before the matches commence.
The maximum bow permitted from 1st June 2006 shall be 25mm. Players and Team Managers are advised to check their sticks now as they will be confiscated for the duration of the game if they do not comply.
To measure the bow on your stick, lay it face down on a flat surface (e.g. a table) and measure the gap at the deepest point. There will be a measuring device issued to all tournament directors prior to 1st June. We are currently awaiting delivery from the FIH.
