Illegal Stick

The following was posted to the England Hockey on Tuesday 18th October 2005.

There have been a number of recent reports that a tiny minority of players are using the Brine CD5000 hockey stick. In accordance with the FIH, England Hockey would like to confirm to all players, coaches and umpires that this is an illegal stick and it should not be used at any level of the game (domestic or international). Umpires and team managers will be expected to advise any player who is unaware of this directive. The stick does not have a traditional shaped head - there is a semi circular indent slightly smaller than the size of the hockey ball cut into the top side of the curve.
